Is the flavor of a bottle of wine truly a gift of geological climate, or is it meticulously crafted by history and culture? How is a city’s soul eternally etched by a literary masterpiece and, in turn, reconstructed into contemporary tourism memory? In this special lecture, we invite Dr. Yang Tzu-Pao to guide us through the wine terroir of Bordeaux, France, and the literary landscape of Dublin, Ireland!
(1) The Reconstruction of Bordeaux Wine: Analyzing how natural endowment (terroir) is transformed into a classic cultural symbol.
(2) Joyce and Dublin’s Literary Landscape: Exploring how James Joyce used his pen to eternalize urban details, crafting a spiritual map of contemporary culture.
(3) Cross-Disciplinary Dialogue on Terroir: Comparing the constructive pathways of natural produce and urban literature to reflect on the contemporary reshaping of local cultural heritage.
On-Site Special Activity: Includes a wine tasting session, allowing you to appreciate the charm of “terroir” through both taste and intellect!
